Who is the Volcano Hybrid vaporizer for?
The Volcano Hybrid Vaporizer is designed for the person who appreciates quality at every corner, and is willing to pay for it. It utilizes the latest Bluetooth controls, but is still simple to use, with amazing efficiency. Whether you like to blow bags and move around the house, or use the new whip for stronger taste profiles, you’re consistently getting a top-shelf experience.
Whips and bags
For 20 years the Volcano has led the way with its iconic bag and perfect valve system. The Hybrid offers that same attention to detail for direct draw. The whip has plenty of length to cool the vapor, and the air flow is easy and comfortable. Now we have the best of both worlds!
Great for solo or group use
Bags are great for any occasion. Blow them up partially when vaping alone, or fill them up for bigger groups and take them anywhere. Whips typically work better flying solo, but the Hybrid whip conveniently swivels, so it’s easy to pass around the circle as the party grows.
Fastest Volcano ever
The new Hybrid Volcano heats up in only one to two minutes, or about how long it takes to prepare a bowl. That’s a big improvement over the three to six minutes older versions needed. Once it’s up to speed, the Hybrid can quickly blow up bag after bag with ease.
Highest safety ratings
With over 12 years of research and development and extensive safety testing, German-engineered and built Volcano vaporizers earn the distinction of being medical grade devices.
Efficient on multiple levels
Efficiency can mean different things to different people, and the Hybrid Volcano takes care of them all. The patented bag and valve system captures everything. The bowl can be removed so your herbs don’t cook between hits. And the Volcano fully extracts everything you want from your herbal blends, leaving nothing behind.
The Volcano has a long reputation for consistency and excellence. The controls are easy to use, even with a Bluetooth app in the mix. With fantastic temperature stability, your herbs will never combust, and you can dial in the same experience with ease. Hi-tech doesn’t have to be complicated.
Hybrid vs Classic: Direct draw, Interface, Bluetooth controls
The Hybrid is replacing the Digit in the Volcano lineup, and the differences compared to the Volcano Classic are significant.
While the Volcano Classic was only missing a few features compared to the Digit, it’s now a far cry from the Hybrid. The Classic has a narrower temperature band (266° F - 446° F), analog controls, and only blows bags. The Classic does not display the temperature on its analog dial, but instead displays numbers 1-9 and has a chart included in the box, which shows what temperatures the numbers correspond to.
The Volcano Hybrid has digital controls with a wider temperature band (104° F - 446° F), blows bags and has a direct draw whip. It also has a full suite of controls through the Bluetooth app. The Hybrid delivers slightly more accurate temperature to your herbs with an accuracy of ± 1.5° C / 2.7° F (compared to ± 5° C / 9° F for the Classic). The LED display will show you the current temperature as well as the set temperature.
Hybrid valve set included.
What about the solid valve?
The Volcano Hybrid Vaporizer comes with the Hybrid Starter Set, that works with existing Easy Valve bags and dosing capsules. It requires a different Filling Chamber Reducer than the Classic to use the dosing capsules. While the Hybrid’s whip will fit on the Classic’s Filling Chamber, it doesn’t work with the Classic. The Solid Valve system isn’t compatible with the Volcano Hybrid.

This is hands down the best Desktop vaporizer that you can buy that does not require an external heat source and can actually be the heat source for your water tool (more on that later as this is a complex review) also I purchased my Volcano Hybrid on 4/20/20. First let's start off with the annoying part. Storz and Nickel had to update the heating source due to aluminum shavings getting the into the vape, since they already had all the boxes created they stuck a sticker on there to let you know. POTV is the only retailer that I know of that does not carry the older version. So everyone should be good here. Now let's get into the ****. Let's start with the new valve system and how cheaply poor it is made. You will eventually need to start buying a new housing (the orange and black piece) as over time they break from being twisted to tight or when dabbing at 446 degrees (this is what you need to set the temp to for dabbing per the instructions) the cheap plastic breaks from being weak. Oh well, a new part is only $10.90 on POTV. Also for the Volcano Hybrid, the black and orange valve system is the only one that will work with the Volcano (this is what you attach directly to the Volcano and put your flower or dab in what I explained above). The black on black won't work with the Hybrid, only the classic. Now let's move onto the filters. Storz and Bickel is the only dang place I can find these anymore. They are 30mm or 1.181". The largest non name brand I can find is 1". You only get 6 and Storz and Bickel charges $8 for shipping. POTV has been sold out everytime I check. Now I don't like cleaning things and this thing will get dirty quick. Get a toothbrush and some rubbing alcohol and spend the next 20-30 minutes tearing apart the Hybrid filing chamber and cleaning out the build-up in there. Alcohol and water will work just fine. Make sure you don't have any flower buds in the the heating area you can blow those out. Now onto the good stuff...... When you preheat the Volcano it will shoot a spout of air out to let you know it's ready. How informative. Scared the **** out of me the first time it did that I alternate between the bags and the whip. Lately I've been on whip kick with the dabs. But let's talk about the bags. I still use my original bags. I've kept them very clean because replacing them looks complicated so screw that. But I love the freedom of the bag. I can fill up a couple of bags and lay down with the wife and watch tv. With the whip I'm stuck in the bathroom unless I want to move overly large setup. Whip it baby whip it good. Oh how much do I love the whip. So what I did was I took the the mouthpiece out of the whip connected it to a 14/50 piece of glass and stuck that into my water tool or dab rig. I also use a moose mouth peace on my water tool and dab rig as an extra filter. This is how you use the Volcano as the external heating source for the flower or dabs. Filtering it through the water just gives the flavor of any flower or dab the extra oomph. I have never tasted flavors this amazing in my buds or oils before. The app is also great. I always disconnect everything before I leave but I leave the volcano plugged in. With the app I can remotely turn it on and have it ready and I just learned that I can change the auto shut off time from 30 minutes to some outrageous times. Also with the app you can create the perfect bag with all these adjustments. Looked to complicated for me but people smarter than I have posted what they think is the best. If you smoke flower only get the dosing capsules which also requires the dosing capsule attachment and it will save you some money in filters. Same with dabbing too. Also with dabbing also use a screen with the drip pad. Side note with the drip pad don't throw these out!!!! You can clean them in alcohol and reuse them. Also always use the supplied grinder. You want a medium chunk blend of flower. I know getting a $700 machine can be overwhelming but take care of it learn about it before you buy it read this review for sure as it may be a good source to learn about it from someone who has had it for awhile and isn't all about the 69420's yo.

I love the new Hybrid Volcano because of its fast pre-heat and whip option. The only complaint I have is the omission of physical buttons. The older digital model was a lot easier to operate with physical buttons instead of this touchscreen ****.
Very good. Well made. Smart.
I have owned the Volcano Hybrid for several months now and it is great when it works. However, there are times when I plug it in and it does not power on. I am not sure if there is a loose connection or what, but this is pretty upsetting based on the price of this thing. I'm also really not wanting to have to send it in for repair and be without it for what I can only imagine will be months. I guess at this point I will keep using it until it doesn't come on any longer and send it in for repair when I have to or towards the end of the warranty period, whichever comes first. I have had some interaction with the US division of S&B on another issue and I can't say they were very responsive.
If you ever do decide to send it in for repair, Barry, please let me know here: https://www.planetofthevapes.com/pages/contact-us and we'll do what we can to help grease the wheels for your over at S&B if need be. Please stay safe out there. With best regards, Larry
I've owned the Classic in the past for many years. This one follows in its footsteps and more.
