Flowermate is known for their budget-friendly portable vaporizers in a variety of fun colors. In September of 2017, the V5.0 Pro and V5.0S, became available in stylish Rose Gold. The Rose Gold versions of both replaced the DC charging port with USB.
More recently the rest of the V.50S and V.50 Pro colors became available with USB, so you don’t have to hunt down a rose gold model just to charge it off of your laptop.
It’s a long-awaited upgrade to a couple of our favorite and best selling portable vapes. Outside of the new color, the color matched sliding lids and buttons, and the introduction of USB charging, the vapes are the same great product.
The Flowermate V5.0S has a convenient single button setup that allows you to set the temperature to one of three levels and get straight to vaping. With a battery that’s capable of running for 2 hours and 30 minutes, these guys are the leader in class for affordable, portable, conduction vapes.
The Flowermate V5.0 Pro adds in digital temperature controls, letting you select in one-degree increments from 104° F to 446° F, for fine-tuning. Other than that, it’s identical to the V5.0S.
Rose Gold Flowermate
While it may be a little too head-turning if trying to be discreet with your portable vape, there’s no denying Rose Gold’s stylish allure. Particularly with the V5 line’s attractive rounded construction, louder and more trendy colors were bound to appear. Flowermate was already ahead of the curve in terms of color selection, although PAX has introduced more colorful and reflective options as time has gone on as well.
(NOTE: this is a V5.0S. There was a misprint on the pre-release model we received. The ones we are shipping have the correct V5.0S logo.)
And why shouldn’t vape manufactures worry about what their products look like? Flying under the radar used to be the name of the game, but a PAX or a Mighty is becoming a status symbol and one that’s apt to draw eyes either way.
Of course, the outside isn’t the only element changing for the updated Flowermates. The new Rose Gold finish will also bring the V5.0 Pro and V5.0S in line with the rest of the Flowermate collection by switching the DC charging port over to USB -- The other colors have also been updated with USB charging, so it isn’t just for the Rose Gold models. We're told that this does not change the charging time, but we're testing this to confirm.
The upgrade to USB is one that makes it easier to share cables between devices. Like the Mini Flowermate models, the USB Micro B charger is the same shared by a number of major Android phones. It also means you can charge the Flowermate off your laptop or a portable battery pack, whether there’s an outlet nearby or not.

More upgrades to come
Whether the Rose Gold finish will make its way to the Mini Flowermate V5 vapes remains to be seen. The USB plugs have now replaced the DC charging ports on the V5.0S and V5.0 Pro that aren’t Rose Gold as well.
Widespread acceptance has led vape manufacturers to think past the discrete black and dark gray colors schemes for something a little more stylish. The PAX 3’s matte metal and the Flowermate’s Rose Gold and other offerings may be on the leading edge now, but they’re likely to become the norm.
