The PAX 3 is every bit as good as the PAX 2, with a new look and improved functionality.
The PAX 2 is easy to use and share, has a massive oven, and goes anywhere with a sophisticated style.
So what improvements does the PAX 3 portable vaporizer provide? Apart from a shinier finish, it’s harder to tell the two apart. Still, there are some under the hood changes that are definitely wort...
PAX Labs has become somewhat of a household name since they debuted their first dry herb vaporizer in the summer of 2012. The original PAX by Ploom entered with little competition and set the tone for the rest of the portable dry herb vapes with its pocketable size, attractive design, and consistent vapor quality. They released the PAX 2 and PAX 3 in 2015 and 2016, and established the PAX as an independent company to keep an eye on.
The PAX 2 and PAX 3 are their flagship portable vaporizers. The PAX 2 is an affordable option that provides great battery life and consistent vaporization, all in a discreet size that’s great for on-the-go consumption. The PAX 3 goes a step further by improving the battery life and adding a wide range of features, including haptic feedback and its own smartphone app for precision temperature settings. We break down all of the features in our PAX 3 Review. If you’re unsure of which one to grab, then check out our PAX 2 vs PAX 3 article for an in-depth comparison.
PAX Labs built a Bluetooth smartphone app for both the PAX 3 and PAX Era Pro to select unique heat settings, lock your device, and temperature control in one degree increments. Android users are fine, but Apple banned all vaporizing apps from their store in 2019. PAX released a desktop version that provides access to all of these features without a smartphone. Later, a PAX app was released as a bluetooth workaround for iPhone users. Take a look at our PAX App Solution for iPhones article for the latest updates.
Not only do these vapes look the same, the PAX 2 and 3 have a lot in common under the hood, as well. Both have a stainless steel conduction oven and an isolated vapor path. Both have lip sensing technology to shut-off the vape when you’re done. Both have four led lights, called petals, on the front to show four preset temps. Whether you purchase the Complete Kit or the Basic Kit, a charging dock is included, with rubbing alcohol and some pipe cleaners, and a high quality vaping experience.
