Vapor quality: This is the biggest difference
How these vapes respond to your draw and how well they preserve flavor is the biggest difference between the two.
The V3 Pro thrives with longer, stronger draws of 10 to 15 seconds. Vapor starts to thicken around four or five seconds into the hit and really takes off from there. Flavor is vibrant from the start and holds up well deep into the session.
The V4 Pro is more forgiving of slower, easier draws. It may take a hit to get going, but once it's warmed up, potent clouds come within a few seconds of a steady pull. Flavor is decent at lower temperatures but fades after just a few hits, and gets worse the hotter you go.
If flavor is your priority, and you enjoy longer, deeper draws, the V3 Pro is the best pick. If you want punchy vapor with less effort, go with the V4 Pro. Just keep the temperature low for the best flavor.
What else changed?
The vapor is the important part, but XMAX made a few smaller changes to the V4 Pro.
Adjustable airflow
The V4 Pro adds adjustable airflow, while the V3 Pro has a fixed draw. At its widest setting, the V4 Pro is only slightly more open than the V3 Pro, but you can tighten the draw for a more roll-your-own style hit.

Color OLED and screen rotation
The V4 Pro upgrades to a color OLED with the same controls, but adds a splash of color to make temperatures, battery life, and other information easier to read at a glance.
You can also rotate the display 180° for bubblers by pressing all three buttons at once.
Small design changes
A few things have moved around, too. The V4 Pro now has a screw-in battery door on the bottom, and the USB-C charging port has moved to the back.
What stayed the same?
The two vapes look nearly identical, with the V4 Pro standing just a little taller. Both vaporizers have Session and On-demand modes, precise temperature control from 212°F to 428°F (100°C–220°C), removable 18650 batteries, USB-C, and the same oven size.
Both also work with the POTV Glass Adapter, which opens up our full glass collection. It comes included with the POTV versions sold here, or you can pick one up separately.
Final verdict: V3 Pro or V4 Pro?
The V3 Pro delivers lasting flavor and great value, while the V4 Pro trades some of that flavor for punchier vapor with less effort. They share many of the same core features, so the decision mostly comes down to how you like your vapor.
V3 Pro: Flavor and value
