Best not to use these with dosing capsules as the airflow is not enough to produce good vapor. However with loose material this is an excellent reducer. I purchased this because I wanted a cleaner solution - wanted to use this with dosing capsules - . It doesnt as I intended but the as a reducer is 5/5 stars.

This product, when used with the dosing capsule, gives you a little more control of your portions. It’s remarkable how much usable vapor the Classic Volcano can ******* from such a small amount. This system is less convenient than simply loading the bowl. I think I also detect a slight degradation in the quality of the vapor. The taste is still great but there does seem to be a little more edge which causes me to cough a bit more. The vapor seems cleaner when I load the bowl directly. When using the capsule, the vapor must pass through more metal. I don’t know what that does to the vapor but it seems to have a slight but noticeable effect. Could be psychological but there seems to be a difference. It’s not a deal breaker as long as it’s safe for the consumer and I’m assuming a company like Storz and Bickle would have done all the testing since they have medical certification. Even though the Classic Volcano comes with a dosing capsule, you will need to buy this reducer to use it. To avoid having to remove the original metal bowl, I bought a new plastic chamber housing so I could install this into a separate lower housing. I used the spare clips which came with the Classic Volcano. When it’s time for a session, I simply exchange the lower half of the chamber with the appropriate size for my session. Using this reducer and a separate plastic chamber housing is much less expensive than buying the fully assembled kit with the reduced chamber already installed. I just use the upper half with either bowl and it works fine. There are no metal parts in the replacement plastic housing so the original upper housing must be used. Not a problem. I just keep the new upper half (without the metal insert vapor path) with the bowl not being used for that session. If you want to try the dosing capsule with your Classic Volcano, you must use a this chamber reducer, either with an additional, fully assembled kit or it must be installed. This is the way which works for me.
