After more than a decade of fat clouds, quirky designs, and unmistakable S&B vapor, Storz & Bickel is closing the book on the Crafty+ and Plenty.
There’s no firm end date or official announcement from S&B yet, but we expect our remaining stock to sell out over the coming months. Once it’s gone, we don’t expect it back.
Both vapes remain fully supported, and warranty coverage will continue for units purchased during the phase-out.
It may sound like these vapes are now outdated, but they're still solid performers. The Crafty+ still puts excellent S&B vapor in your pocket, and the Plenty still hits like a tank. S&B’s lineup has moved forward, and two of its longest-running designs are making way for the next generation.

The Plenty was quirky, but it changed S&B for good
Released in 2011, the Plenty was Storz & Bickel’s first hybrid vaporizer and helped pioneer the heating approach that would become a defining part of the Mighty, Crafty, and the portable S&B vaporizers that followed.
Its weird power tool shape also gives it a quirky personality. The big orange handle, analog temperature dial, and exposed stainless steel cooling coil make the Plenty unlike anything else. Even the controls are strange. You have to periodically squeeze the handle to engage the heater and keep the session going.
But once it gets going, the Plenty hits like a tank. Its huge oven, wide-open airflow, and hybrid heater produce massive clouds, while that strange metal coil delivers remarkably cool, smooth vapor. There is very little draw resistance and almost no technique required. Load it properly, let it heat up, and rip it.
The Plenty also occupies a strange middle ground that S&B never really revisited. It has desktop power and needs an outlet, but you can hold it in your hand, pass it around, and tuck it away when you’re done. It takes up far less space than a Volcano and doesn’t require bags or a permanent spot on the table. For home users who want S&B desktop performance without the footprint of a Volcano, the Plenty still makes a lot of sense.
On the flip side, it takes a few minutes to heat up, the controls are unconventional, the large oven requires a lot of herbs, and the temperature is set with an analog dial instead of precise digital controls. It’s a bit weird, but the vapor is still excellent.
It was a bit strange then, and still is today, but more importantly, the hybrid technology inside it helped lay the groundwork for much of what came next.
The Crafty+ helped change portable vaporizers
The Crafty story started in 2014, when Storz & Bickel released the original Crafty alongside the Mighty. S&B took the hybrid heating and vapor quality that made the Plenty popular and packed it into battery-powered vaporizers that were years ahead of much of the competition. We hadn’t seen anything like it before.
The Crafty packs Storz & Bickel’s signature hybrid vapor into a pocketable device, with thick, flavorful hits, excellent cooling, and controls simple enough for just about anyone.
Nothing’s perfect, though. Battery life is on the short side, and heat-up times eventually felt slow next to newer vapes. Later updates brought a USB-C port and a ceramic-coated bowl, while improved airflow and a third onboard temperature setting made a respectable vape even better.
Newer portables became faster and more feature-packed, but few make consistently great vapor this easy to carry around. Even at the end of its run, the Crafty+ still kills it.
Last chance to grab a Crafty+ or Plenty
The Crafty+ remains an easy recommendation for anyone who wants proven S&B vapor that’ll fit in your pocket. Newer vapes beat it on battery life, speed, and features, but its signature vapor holds up.
The Plenty is an even easier decision if you’ve always been intrigued by it. There may never be another S&B vape quite like this one. It delivers desktop power in a design you can hold in your hand, pass around, and easily put away when you’re done. It’s corded, slightly awkward, and controlled by squeezing an orange handle, but it’s also powerful, incredibly smooth, and capable of the same monster hits that made users love it in the first place.
If you’ve always wanted either of these vaporizers, now is the time. We expect our remaining stock to sell out over the coming months, and once it’s gone, we don’t expect it back.
The current state of Storz & Bickel
The Crafty+’s and Plenty’s departure makes more sense when you look at S&B’s current lineup.
The Mighty+ and Venty now handle the heavy lifting on the portable side. The Mighty+ carries forward the familiar S&B session experience, while the Venty takes portable performance even further with faster heat-up times, huge adjustable airflow, and much more control.
The Veazy steps naturally into the space once occupied by the Crafty+. It follows a similar philosophy: make the S&B experience smaller, simpler, and easier to carry around.
On the desktop side, the Volcano Classic and Volcano Hybrid are still going strong. The Classic is still here after 25 years, while the Hybrid remains S&B’s more modern, feature-packed desktop.
The Plenty’s design is starting to show its age, so it was only a matter of time before we said goodbye. The Volcano Hybrid carries over its biggest strengths: a massive oven, hybrid heating, and a direct-draw option. S&B may lose one of its quirkiest vaporizers, but its core experience will live on in the current lineup.
With the Crafty+ and Plenty on their way out, S&B has a smaller and much more modern lineup, but these two helped get it there. The Plenty helped establish the hybrid heating that shaped S&B’s future, and the Crafty helped make that experience portable. Their time may be coming to an end, but their influence is all over the S&B lineup that remains.
