Tafée Bowle Tips & Tricks: any grind will do
The Bowle will blow through both ground herbs and whole flowers, but grinding it up works the best. Just about any grinder will do, but the included Potter grinder works perfectly and can be used for filling one or multiple pots at once!
Use the Potter
The included Potter is no ordinary grinder. This slick accessory includes four extra pots with inserts that allow you to directly fill them up in batches. Grind up plenty of herbs, and give it a few taps and shakes to fill up each pot.
The Potter can also be used as a funnel to fill up individual pots. To set it into funnel mode, take the potter and separate them into its three pieces. Take the clear piece and remove the funnel from the grinder, shown below:
Then, take the funnel and attach it to the bottom of the black grinder piece. Place the clear grinder piece on top, and you’re set!
Great with smaller loads
Microdosers rejoice! The Bowle’s robust heater can vaporize small loads with ease and produce surprisingly potent hits, with less material. Try packing the pot a little under halfway with a light tamp. Give it a slow, but steady draw and finish it off in one hit!
Tamp, but not too hard
The right tamp helps. Pack it too tightly and or too loose, and you might miss out on something. When filling up the pot, use the included stir tool’s flat end and gently press the herbs down until they are flat on top. Don’t apply much pressure!
Press and hold for better battery life
Every hit counts with convection vaporizers. They’re power hungry, and the longer they run, the sooner the batteries will drain and conk out on you. To make the Bowle as energy efficient as possible, skip the breath activated function and fire it up manually. Instead of clicking the fire button once, press and hold it in during your hit, and release a few seconds before you're done. This will save the heater a few seconds per hit, and lessen the demand on the battery.
Six to seven seconds is the ideal draw length
Tafée’s team comprises some of the brightest minds in the vaporizer industry. Their latest research suggests that a medium draw of six to seven seconds is all it takes to coat your lungs with vapor, and any more than that could go to waste. Try this next time: take a relaxed, medium draw for about six seconds, release, fill up with fresh air to pack it all in, and exhale. Did you notice anything different? Let us know in the comments!
Stirring is useful, but not necessary
The Bowle is ultra efficient. Each hit cooks through thoroughly and evenly, and can often be finished off without a single stir. However, a quick swirl halfway through can brighten up the flavor and finish off your pot even sooner. When you notice the flavor start to dissipate, give it a quick stir with a light tamp and load it back up.
Charge it after a couple sessions
As we mentioned, convection vapes chew through a lot of power, and the last thing you want is your vape to die in the middle of a hit. Plug it in after every couple of sessions to ensure you have all the juice you need, every time.
Maintain the screens
Clear and open airflow is important for convection vapes. A clogged pot screen can cause hot spots, even if you packed it perfectly, so if you notice a dip in performance, your pot may have a dirty screen. Give it a quick brush, or soak it in some rubbing alcohol and you’ll be good to go.
Don’t touch the temperature sensor!
The Bowle’s temperature sensor is located inside the oven slot, right above the metal screen. It’s been meticulously calibrated to hit your set temperature dead on and maintain it as you take your hit, all while taking into account your draw speed and length. Knock it out of whack and you’ll need to send it in for repair, so don’t touch it!
Don’t use hot drinks with the drinkware
Vaping and sipping on your favorite beverage is one of the Bowle’s highlight features. The drinkware is made from durable plastic, but should not be used with drinks hotter than 80°C/175°F, equivalent to a hot cup of tea. Stick to cold or room temperature beverages. If you must have tea with your vapor, steep it in another cup first, and transfer to the Bowle when it’s ready to drink.
