Sorry, not a fan. most wasteful device I've ever used
I am a legal medical herb user with over 40 years of experience, not new to desktop vaporizers though I never owned one due to the cost. I picked up a V-tower for my new place and watched all the videos and read whatever I could find. After 2 weeks of experimentation, I parked it in the closet because I was going through more than twice the product I normally would even if I was just using a regular pipe. These were my takeaways: The chamber is huge, holds well over a gram of ground loose material, and needs to be 3/4 full loose to produce consistent quality vapor. If you use smaller amounts the vapor is hit or miss though the material still degrades from the heat. I'd guess it's at least 5x the size of my handheld vape pipes chamber or combustion pipe bowl, and I only need one of either of those for a satisfying session. And unless you like vaping increasingly weak AVB you're still only getting one session in spite of all the extra material. The digital temperature controls are great for finding the ideal temps to isolate different terpenes and other components. But beyond that novelty, you'll be blowing through a lot of product, and if you're used to getting everything at once through smoking or **** temp vaping smaller quantities you might find yourself never feeling fully satisfied with the effects.

Hi Tom, I am so sorry to hear about your experience with your V-Tower. Will create a service ticket for you right now to see if we can help. Elbow packing may be a solution here. Talk to you in a bit, Larry
V Tower: simplicity and effectivness
I had the Arizer Q and it did not work out for me. Partially because I did not know what I was getting into. It had a fan that I used but I was not patient and did not understand how to dry herb vape. I also lost all of the pieces (you can reorder on the website). I got frustrated and gave up. I wanted to get a Volcano but could not justify the expense. I am on disability. I saw this one. The same as I had, but stripped down. No fan. It did not seem to have as many pieces. This just has a couple. Only what you need to vape. I appreciated the simplicity. At $100 it was worth a go. I then saw a video on youtube with someone demonstrating the vape. It takes a little while to get going. I did not know this. I saw him inhaling vape smoke and I wondered if it was possible. I ordered this. They told me the delivery day was eight days away. I got it in two days! I don’t think that will always happen but that was impressive. I was so grateful to get it. I started using it. And it is a work in progress, but I am having really good sessions now. I also have more energy. Smoking can wear one down. Using this I am not being worn down. I use herbs for medical purposes. The suggested use is a vaporizer. I think the Volcano is an approved medical device for vaping. This should be too. I am sure the Volcano is better, but this gets the job done. I think everyone who is looking to alter their using experience should try this. All the good stuff is in the green plant, so best to use it. Vaping makes it much more attainable to more people.
I've never received any item ordered online as fast as my V Tower!! I ordered it Mar. 31, it shipped on April 1; it came in today's mail. Very protective packaging. I loaded it with my herb and it was a treat to puff and really taste the difference in the strains, not one cough. If you want a desktop, thus is easy to operate, this price is fantastic. It is a very well-made device. I was shocked it is made in Canada. I'm so glad I found POTV.
You Got the Time?
My doctor advised switching to vaping herb from vaping ***. I'm a light herb smoker mainly with a water pipe. Vaping in general allows for a different flavor profile. Herb is the one very satisfying "smoke" for me in terms of flavor and effect so I'm a hard sell ut I'm giving it a fair trial. I'd purchased the Arizer Solo 2 though I don't need super portability, I didn't want something sitting on my desk and confined to the house but since the vapor on the Solo 2 was "meh", I tried a desk top model. Again the Arizer was on sale. This time I purchased the Arizer V Tower. This review is after two days of use so I won't comment on longevity. The good: It's inexpensive and plain for us folks who like inexpensive and plain. It's also easy to operate. It has a timer that can be set to turn the unit off after a set time. Up to five hours I think. I set this one at 30 minutes. You can also turn the beep off or turn it up to loud. The rest: I knew it didn't have a fan but didn't know what having a fan or not having one meant. I like the absolute quiet (except for the sound of my inhale) of the unit. But I also find that when I use the potpourri glass for aromatherapy, a fan would probably help with disbursement. The lavender in the glass just sits there after 30 minutes. That might not matter to a lot of people and isn't the prime consideration for the unit. The V- Tower takes a solid 15 minutes to begin to produce vapor but if you want to actually benefit from the effect of your herbs, you may have to wait longer depending on the temperature you've set. Be patient. f you remove the glass to stir the herb or look inside to see if it's working, it will start to heat up the herb all over again. It's not just to reach the set temperature which is fairly quick. The screen to keep the herb from flying up the whip and into your mouth, clogs up every time. Set at 399 degrees, after 22 minutes there was nothing. For my latest session, it was set at 449 and turned off after 30 minutes when it had just gotten to the point where it was decent. I started this session today at 2:33 pm. It is now 3:22 pm and I can finally end the session. One session. It comes down to having the time or moving on. For a laid back, lazy day, this would be perfect.
Having had the V-Tower for 3 months, I can say that I never really felt I was getting anything more from the experience vs traditional combustion and that I now believe vaping to be just a gimmick. The experience is lesser than that of combustion. I never felt like it was doing that much for me, especially if it's shared. The elbow pack proved the most consistent but was hard to achieve and kind of dangerous to reload in that fashion. It's dirty! Between loading, unloading, storing of abv, it will get everywhere. Not to mention all the little bits you will have to clean and keep track of. Unlike a glass water pipe, the hose is sensitive to isopropyl, so you have to use different products for different parts. This makes cleaning even more--time-consuming. It takes 10 minutes to prepare the glass for use from cold. You will consume this over a period of time, which is otherwise fine. Vaping takes a lot of work to prepare, and at the end of the day for no real benefit. It's everything about smoking, except worse. The unit itself performed to within specification and the little tools they included with it are handy and nice.

Hey Skooma, Vaping is definitely not for everyone but please give this a shot. If you are trying to make the transition from smoking to vaping, it's really important just to vaporize and not smoke at all for about 2.5 weeks. You need to wean yourself off of the toxins such as benzene and carbon monoxide that are produced by burning plant material. The reason why you need to do this is that those toxins create some of the effects that you got when you smoked, but please know this. Over 90% of the people that go through this transition will have no desire to ever go back to combustion again. I had to go through this myself. That was 14 years ago. With best regards, Larry
