The DaVinci MIQRO First Look - Don't Lose it in your Pocket

We got our hands on the MIQRO, and we’re excited about what DaVinci calls their new ‘personal’ vaporizer.

We got our hands on the MIQRO, and we’re excited about what DaVinci calls their new ‘personal’ vaporizer. At two-thirds the size, it looks like a miniaturized IQ without the smartphone app or the Flavor Chamber, but still rocks the adjustable pearl, replaceable batteries and a zirconia ceramic vapor path you can remove for cleaning. Now the light user can have that signature DaVinci style and the cool, flavorful vapor that comes with it, but with pricing that starts at a wallet-friendly $149.

Fast facts:

  • $149 Standard Bundle, $199 for the Explorer’s Collection
  • Digital temperature range: Room temperature - 430° F (221° C) as well as four Smart Paths (350° F - 370° F, 370° F - 390° F, 390° F - 410° F, 410° F - 430° F)
  • Ceramic conduction oven, maximum capacity 0.25 grams
  • Dry herbs only
  • 3.13 in tall | 1.34 in wide | 0.91 in deep | 3.5 ounces (100 grams)
  • Available in Onyx, Graphite, Cobalt, Rust, Amethyst
  • 5 Year Warranty

The new tiny

At ⅔ the size of DaVinci’s IQ vaporizer, the MIQRO sets a new standard for what we consider ultra-portable. It’s slightly wider and thicker than the PAX 2 but ¾ inches shorter, making it small enough to lose in a purse or bag, and you’ll barely feel it in a normal pocket.

DaVinci MIQRO Size

Cool, pure vapor

DaVinci’s formula for tasty, comfortable vapor is present in the MIQRO’s ceramic oven and all zirconia ceramic vapor path. This careful design gives the vapor plenty of space to cool before hitting your lungs. The materials keep your vapor pure, and everything but the oven can be removed for cleaning so your herbs taste fresh.

Quick heat up time

The DaVinci MIQRO heats up to vaporizing temperature in around 30 seconds on a fresh battery, and 60 seconds on a low battery, for quick, easy sessions anywhere. That’s inline with the competition and you won’t feel like you’re waiting around on your vaporizer.

Versatile bowl for light use

The unique bowl supports DaVinci’s description of the MIQRO as a personal vaporizer. It’s on the small side, but you can still pack it full with about a quarter gram of herbs for a potent single-user session. The pearl can extend to shrink the oven capacity down to around a tenth of a gram for light use or micro-dosing. It’s the perfect size for most any personal use.

Short battery life with removable batteries

The DaVinci MIQRO’s single removable 900 mAh 18350 battery lasts for around 20 minutes of run time on the higher half of the temperature scale. That comes out to four five-minute sessions, which is about right for an evening of personal use. It’s less than what we get out of most portable vaporizers, but can be expected from such a small vaporizer. The user-replaceable batteries recharge in under 45 minutes in an external charger, but take a full hour longer charging in the MIQRO via USB.

Familiar, intuitive interface

If you’ve seen Davinci’s IQ before, the MIQRO will be instantly recognizable with the same easy-to-learn control scheme. It has a 15 LED display that’s similar to the IQ’s 51 LEDs and shows battery level, boost mode, temperature setting, and which smart path is being used. Buttons on the side give you full control without the need for an app, and the DaVinci MIQRO comes with flat and extended mouthpieces.

Which package?

The DaVinci MIQRO vaporizer comes in two kits, a Standard Bundle for $149, and an Explorer’s Collection package for $199, which includes a nice spread of high quality accessories for just $50 more. The vaporizers are the same in both kits, but the Explorer’s Package gives you extra on-the-go vape time with a keychain canister to hold herbs and the extra battery, a carrying case and spare parts.

DaVinci MIQRO Standard vs Explorer's Package

Not an IQ replacement

With an oven half the size, and an appropriately weaker battery, sessions on the MIQRO aren’t as full and potent as the DaVinci IQ. As such, it’s likely heavy users aren’t going to make the switch. Instead, the MIQRO is a great option for those who want to take down less than half a gram, but still want that signature DaVinci quality and style.

Who is the MIQRO for?

DaVinci’s MIQRO is aimed right at the light user who wants a modern design that’s small enough to take anywhere, without sacrificing vapor quality. The smaller oven and half-size battery make this a personal vaporizer, and the attractive look hides a brilliant design that cools the vapor while protecting its taste.
