Puffco Peak Pro Sneak Peek

Puffco Peak Pro Sneak Peek

With the Peak Pro, Puffco looks to have improved everything we wanted, and more!

Due to the PACT Act, we removed all concentrate vaporizers and accessories from the Planet of the Vapes website, and you should know why. We still stand behind these products, and plan to bring them back later, but for now we have stopped shipping concentrate vaporizers.

Puffco just announced the Peak Pro is coming soon, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it! After pouring over the feature list and announcement videos, it looks like Puffco addressed everything we wanted about the original Peak, and then some. It sounds like it’s going to drop next week, so let’s get into it.

Puffco Peak Pro: At first glance

The Peak Pro has an elongated form, and high quality finishes like you’d expect. It’s backwards compatible with original Peak glass, but is angled to hold more water for a cooler, smoother hit. The hard travel case now seals magnetically, and the Travel Pack has a bigger Backpack (cotton swab holder), but we’ll talk about the accessories in a minute.

A needed power upgrade

The Pro model has an auto-shutoff! It seems like a simple feature, but was lacking on the original Peak and drove us crazy. The Peak Pro fully charges in two hours via USB-C, and delivers about 30 sessions per charge.

Better atomizer!

Finally, the atomizer is built to last! It secures to the base with a bayonet fitting instead of traditional threadings, and still cleans with a simple soak in rubbing alcohol. The dish is 40% larger than the original, and the heater has a built-in sensor that keeps the temperature stable with any draw speed and any sized load.

But the standout feature might just be the new Oculus carb cap. It locks in place, has a directional airpath, and has a see-through window. You’ll love watching your load melt and boil!

Killer accessories

We mentioned the Travel Pack ($29.99) with its bigger Backpack, but it also includes a new angled mouthpiece and an improved carb cap tether. But wait till you see the Power Dock! It’s a wireless charger and base that doubles as a power bank that can charge anything through USB. While away from the wall, it can provide two full charges via USB, or one full charge wirelessly. There's a Ready Mode that will fire up the heater as soon as you remove it from the Power Dock ($119.99), and turn it off when you put it back, with no button pressing. This feature can only be enabled through the app.

Dial it in with the app

We’re not sure how many platforms we can use the smartphone app on, but we know it works on iOS through a bluetooth enabled browser, similar to the what other manufacturers have done. The app has a home screen that displays the Peak Pro temperature with daily and total session counts, and a handful of other cool features. Lantern mode activates multi-colored light shows similar to the Dr. Dabber Switch, and has a Stealth Mode that leaves nothing lit but the logo. Adjust the length and intensity of the hit with Boost Mode. If you create an account, you can customize and save heat and light settings.

Itching to get it!

As you can see, the Puffco Peak Pro is chock full of improvements to the original. In just two short years Puffco has fixed all we could think of, and come out with things we didn’t. The good news is the price is only $399.99, no more than the original Peak was at launch.
